Awards Roundup Week of Oct. 8

Several national and international award programs have recognized VML recently. The following is a recap of the recognitions.

 

London International Awards: VML selected as finalist

VML’s work on Gatorade’s “Everything to Prove” branded content series was short-listed in the 2012 London International Awards in the Digital category for Branded Content. Check out the full short list here.

 

The London International Awards (LIA) began in 1986 as the first truly international advertising awards, accepting entries in television, print and radio from around the world. Today LIA accepts entries from 13 media types. LIA also publishes a full-color annual that features all winning work, including finalists, which means VML’s work will be included in the 2012 annual.

OMMA: VML wins three awards

The 2012 OMMA Awards were recently held in New York City during Advertising Week, and VML won three awards:

  • Brand Awareness and Positioning: Gatorade and VML for “Everything to Prove,” VML Kansas City
  • Sports Website: USOC and VML for TeamUSA.org, VML New York
  • Online Advertising, Social Campaign: ASICS Run With Me, VML Australia

Additionally, two other projects were selected as finalists for this year’s OMMA Awards:

 

VML’s Chief Creative Officer, Debbi Vandeven, is on the jury of this year’s OMMA Awards. Read more about the jury and judging process here.

IAB MIXX Awards: VML recognized three times

The IAB MIXX Awards, recognizing the industry’s best digital work from across the globe, were held recently in New York. VML was honored as a winner in two categories — with a gold award for VML Australia’s SKINS “Quick Fit Station” campaign in the Digital Out-of-Home category and with a bronze award for VML Kansas City’s Gatorade “Everything to Prove” in the Brand Awareness and Positioning category. VML Australia was also recognized as a finalist in the Public Service/Not For Profit category for the NGIA “Improve Your Plant/Life Balance” work.

One Show Interactive: VML Australia a finalist in Q1 competition

One Show Interactive Q1 finalists were recently announced, and VML Australia is a finalist in the Interactive Advertising category for its work on the Nokia Lumia augmented reality campaign. One Show Interactive recognizes the best in new media advertising in categories such as Augmented Reality, Mobile Applications, Social Media and more. Because the digital world moves too fast for a once-a-year deadline, One Show Interactive features a unique quarterly entry system. Each quarter, entries are chosen to move on to the final round of judging where Pencil winners will be determined.

AIGA KC A8 Awards: VML wins six awards

The AIGA A8 Awards gala and exhibition recently took place at the elegant, revitalized Guild event space in Kansas City. A8 marked AIGA Kansas City’s eighth annual design competition. VML was widely represented among the evening’s winners for our work on Bear Naked’s Winteractive micro site, the Gatorade G Force B2B sales app, Gatorade mobile site, Gatorade.com G Series product hubs, Higher M-Pact website and Whole Foods Market custom typefaces.
